Hi,

I just started using Deepin a few days ago. I've been using Ubuntu since 2008, but didn't like Unity or that version of Gnome-shell. The only four issues I have with Deepin are 1) Having to click on upgrade for each package in the Software Center. This can be time consuming when there are 60 packages or more. Isn't there a way to install all updates with a click or two? 2) Also, when I open new tabs in Firefox, I see Chinese characters. I'm sure there's some setting in Firefox that needs to be changed, but I just don't have time to keep looking. 3) Deepin Media Player won't play DVDs although I have installed all the codecs and can play them in VLC. 4) There's not much English support out there for Deepin if a user has a question. I hope that changes because I love this distro.

If anyone has any suggestions on these issue, let me know. I will continue to look myself, as time permits.

Thanks!

Hi, larry42860
Thanks for your feedback.
1). For some reason, the one-click-update feature for packages in the Deepin Software Centre was temporarily removed and will be restored when the next version of the software is available. Sorry for the inconvenience.
2). The problem you mentioned with the new tab does exist and we will come up with a solution and fix it ASAP.
3). The development of the DVD playback feature hasn't finished yet and it is on our schedule. So we just say it's just matter of time that the Deepin Media Player becomes versatile and the time won't be long ;)
4). Now that we have our own section at LQ(The LD team owes Jeremy a debt of gratitude for this ^o^), as you can see. And we also have a English section on our official forum. So just don't hesitate to ask questions and get support from us when you feel the need. And also we have a bug tracker if you would like to report any bug to us sometime. We are always ready to help our users. :D

I'm not much for Gnome, but I try things out now and then. I found Deepin to be unusually appealing to me. It made sense. Very nice job. Welcome.

Thanks for the quick reply Alex. I've found fixes for most of my issues, but I'll put that in a new thread so we can keep this one on topic. Again I really enjoy the look and feel of LD. Great Job.
