I think it's high time we started lightining the overall mood in /General!

What would you do if you met any one of these people, be it at some kind of convention/gathering, or just bumping into one of them on the street one day? :D

If you have met one of these people (as in actually walked up to them and said hello or whatever, not just seen them), please share your experiences! :D

I was thinking of making a famous scientists list, but I decided against it since it would probably just devolve into yet another science/religion flamewar. :rolleyes: Plus which, I don't know of very many "high-profile"/"celebrity" scientists out there*. :redface:

Also, I apologize if this kind of thread has been done before. Please merge it with the other one if it has.

(* - When I say "out there", I mean currently. I wouldn't include people like Einstein, etc.)

I have VERY BRIEFLY talked to RMS (2-3 minutes). It was before his lecture in London a few months ago. I congratulated him on Emacs (I genuinely like it and use it quite a lot) and asked about his book that I then bought from him. That was it.

Nothing. They aren't that interesting. Now, john carmack would be another story.

I met Stallman in 2001 I was 14 years old and I told him that I'm developping softwares. He asked me if I've already hacked the kernel, I said no so he told me "You're not a developper !" lol
