Thank you.

Well, if nothing else, this thread has given me a bigger list of users to ignore because they interjected religion into a tech forum. It has a time and a place and this isn't either.

So, Siljrath, I am quite curious how this explosion at Cern might possibly occur. Considering that AFAIK there are no stockpiles of explosive chemicals and not enough potentially fissionable material to light a candle, just what do you imagine can explode?

lmao. sorry. i thought the tounge-n-cheek exaggeration there was obvious. lmao. didnt think anyone would actually query that as if serious. hahahahahahahawheeee. thanks. i needed a good laugh. had a frown-inducing day. n_n

poe's law strikes again. n_n .... but oh, maybe, just maybe... get the particles hitting absolutely perfect... it might create a black hole! lol.

but it has been reported that cern are changing to foss. saves them a packet on license fees, and gives them more control over their software.

-edit: and, helps them make their discoveries, which could themselves in turn help us to save the world in many ways, most, i imagine, are beyond our imagination from current knowledge and understanding.

The main Bible-basher here hasn't posted on LQ for nearly two years, so you may be safe after all.

As to why you're want to put him on your ignore list and fail to be party to all the important information about the Christ's second coming, I don't know. May Baphomet have mercy on your dark soul.

Not sure what to do with that...given your username and sig, I'd say nothing so all good I think :)

You are going to miss out on all those wonderful threads, which start with "so anyway, I was recompiling the latest kernel...", move onto, "which lead me to this point which irrefutably proves creationism..." and ends with a full on southern baptist style sermon...

I like it! :)

linux (or rather, free software) could help save the world by encouraging increased awareness of the right, the necessity, to have the freedom to see the source code, increasing the inquisitiveness of a religion's followers, leading them to greater scrutiny of their religion and its leaders and texts, leading them to uncover the bugs, and, no longer want their religion and their selves dragged into war-supporting associations.

... thought i'd do a religion one, on topic, since folks seem keen on talking about religion here now.

Ha! RMS himself. With an OLD school disk platter if I am not mistaken.

Ignoring a user makes you a * who apparently can't scan over text (eg speed read‽)

Less information will be helpful when everyone has the basics figured out...

sevendogsbsd 06-28-2019 08:34 AM

It's not about scanning over text, it's the idea that someone feels the need to preach/push religion in a tech forum. The idea that someone would do that is ridiculous. I don't want to hear about it, ever.

Lysander666 06-28-2019 08:42 AM

I think the issue comes when even just scanning over the text tells the same story again and again, to the point where it's just easier and less stress to ignore them altogether. Some people don't change their posting content, it's the same thing repeatedly - little in the way of originality, thoughtfulness, usefulness or surprise - purely looping the same arguments in a different way for their own entertainment.

Such people are best ignored since the risk ones takes in doing so, versus the chance of seeing actual quality content from the poster, is empirically low.

sry, i intended to drive that ramble more concise-ward, to real world examples, but instead i've drilled it into "wtf is he on about". XD

Yes, show us what is happening in your nuclear faciities... Iran! ... We want to "fine-tune " them. We are scientists. Show us the footage!
