Twitter Monetization

You will receive whatever money we receive, so that’s 70% for subscriptions on iOS & Android (they charge 30%) and ~92% on web (could be better, depending on payment processor). After first year, iOS & Android fees drop to 15% and we will add a small amount on top of that, depending on volume. We will also help promote your work. Our goal is to maximize creator prosperity. At any point, you can leave our platform and take your work with you. Easy in, easy out. 12:20 PM · Apr 13, 2023" |
What I get from this is that Musk is flailing.

Speaking of Twitter - What's it worth today? $5,000,000?
Whoever offered $44,000,000 for it seems to have made a monumental error. His behaviour as the "chief twit" has amply justified that title, driven away advertisers, made it's workforce an endangered species, and ruined what doubtful reputation he may have had. To my mind, it's a bit like an alcoholic buying a distillery. Twitter brings out the worst in Musk. |
^^^^Time will tell.

@elonmusk "Rolling out next month, this platform will allow media publishers to charge users on a per article basis with one click. This enables users who would not sign up for a monthly subscription to pay a higher per article price for when they want to read an occasional article. Should be a major win-win for both media orgs & the public." 11:31 AM · Apr 29, 2023 https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1652349875017879552 |
I get the idea. He paid a fortune for twitter, the advertisers all went away and he's still trying to make money. There's something called "Return On Investment."
However, he has managed to avoid embarrassing himself greatly in the last few weeks. He does have some hundreds of million users. Maybe he should set his office back in Tesla or SpaceX and hire an ad manager? Then he could follow Rule 0 of business management? Quote:

^^^ Lol, it's funny watching 'Monday Morning Quarterbacks' give the World's second wealthiest person business advice.

Tucker 'Twitter' Carlson
This should be interesting, lol. I will add that even though I'm unabashedly conservative I never watched Carlson with any regularity. Elon Musk @elonmusk "On this platform, unlike the one-way street of broadcast, people are able to interact, critique and refute whatever is said. And, of course, anything misleading will get @CommunityNotes . I also want to be clear that we have not signed a deal of any kind whatsoever. Tucker is subject to the same rules & rewards of all content creators. Rewards means subscriptions and advertising revenue share (coming soon), which is a function of how many people subscribe and the advertising views associated with the content. I hope that many others, particularly from the left, also choose to be content creators on this platform." https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1656079504778092544 Tucker Carlson @TuckerCarlson "We’re back." https://twitter.com/TuckerCarlson/st...37032538390530 |
Had multiple Twitter burner accounts over the years. Since Tesla-boy took over I jumped ship and now it sounds like I have even less reason to go back. Twitter is a cesspool of hate.

Not at all, just have an obsession about privacy and I never post anything on social media using my real identity, especially when I am speaking my mind. What is the saying: "A man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask and he will tell you the truth."

A lot of people still use it. Few really care, about who owns it.
Because if they did, they may considering close the account they have. I don't mean somebody on there for a month and then closing it, but longe term users, over several years. They don't care about the negatives only their own interest, business, politics. What ever. |
