I use mine too much sometimes, and that's when I get in trouble....

Seems like it's been forever since I last logged on good ol' LQ. Nice to see the $RANDOM thread still going strong and all the familiar faces (err...usernames?). Been busy with my networking course. Decided to set up a server in a VM for the experience and immediately ran into issues. Looked on Google for an hour or two and remembered LQ. So here I am: Mail Server. It's funny how I have 1,000 posts, been a member for two years, a Linux user for 4-5 and have absolutely no friggin' clue about the server side of Linux, which also happens to be where its used in an overwhelming majority. :p

Yeah this thread is still somewhat going. I haven't been "going," though.... Been really sick for the past week, that's why I haven't really been on too much lately. I am currently battling it out with a really bad, severe chest/lung infection, among many other things. On a good note though, I am getting better finally. Yay me....
Well anyways, .... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUEyYuZkjVI Enjoy. Over and out, Josh |
I hope you get better... :(
Man, why can't setting up a mail server be as easy as setting up a web server? This is so difficult! |
How is it difficult? I set up my old mail server in about 15 minutes :p
|
Well, the configuration seems to take foerver, and it gets confusing when I want spam protection, webmail, etc... It doesn't matter anyway... my ISP blovks port 25, and according to the #postifx IRC channel, running my own mail server is impossible unless I pay money for a VPS, business internet plan or mail relaying service. I hope they are mistaken but they know a lot more than I do...
