Not sure how many times I've done this over the years but what the heck, my systems have changed drastically since the last time:

One for desktop use, the other I'm setting up as a Slackware Linux server to host her domain and mail on at her house, I'll remotely administer it for her. :) And I have many other parts I'll be trying to get rid of, probably could make 2 or 3 more machines from the parts.. ;) |
im still thinking about building a new gaming machine this summer. the only thing is the next gen consoles come out at the end of the year. id hate to drop a lot of money on a new gaming rig, then abandon it for a new console. but, if i were to build a new pc:
Athlon 64 4000+ 2GB pc3200 ram 6800GT video card Asus nforce4 sli mobo 76GB WD raptop dvd burner dvd drive wireless keyboard and mouse logitech 5.1 speakers 19" LCD windows xp pro the best part about using linux, is that i dont get the constant urge to upgrade because i really dont use my linux boxes for gaming. ill do my best to avoid buying the parts above. wish me luck. |

The only thing I actually pay for when it comes to computers is the hardware.. with Linux and opensource, even all my software is free.. except when I donate or buy something to help the project, etc. ;) |
