try dosemu. I personally haven't tried it, but from what I hear, it's next to flawless.

I just started using Linux on dual boot with winxp, and since Linux has been installed (3 weeks) I've not booted into Windows once.

Blitzkrieg 01-02-2003 08:43 PM

I only use windoze to play games sometimes.

Mety 01-03-2003 01:04 AM

I just installed a HD and Mandrake, so I'm trying to ween myself off windows. :)

Soleil-Raid 01-03-2003 04:01 AM

Linux almost exclusivily. There's a Windows 2K HD for games, but I avoiding booting into that as much as possible.

moeminhtun 01-03-2003 04:08 AM

I don't play games.
I have no sound and so no movie.
But I'm living without windows.

HwzrHlslndr 01-03-2003 04:45 PM

(voluntarily, anyway - once they've bought enough politicians we may not have a choice...)

Mara 01-04-2003 04:05 AM

I do a lot of graphics in 3Dsmax, so I doubt I can ever 100% convert. Can anyone offer any tips on this?

qanopus 01-04-2003 05:21 PM

Yes try maya. I heard it's good.

ubien 01-04-2003 05:42 PM

blender just recently went open source, never used it but I heard it's really good for 3d stuff.

yngwin 01-04-2003 07:07 PM

Even in Hollywood they use Linux more and more for 3D & related stuff, but I doubt that a lot of the software they use is Open Source. Maya and Houdini seem to be leading packages. Hey, The Lord of the Rings is made with Linux!
