If you had $250...
What would buy if you had $250?
It's time to save it before taking a poll on how to spend it.
This is just a curiousity question about what's on people wishlists.
I'd put it towards a 5 speed Cosworth gearbox for an older car I'm doing up in my spare time. If you wanted something computer/linux specific, if the money was given to me for free I'd probably divide it up and donate to a bunch of projects that I use, otherwise more disk space.
Probably use it towards a 60GB iPod video(black). Or I'd buy a used Dual P3 server. Or some other hardware project that I could afford w/ $250
Extra $250... hell, pay it towards some bills.. or save for a night out with the lady.
I suppose that that depends upon what form it was in. If it was in loose change, I'd use it as a counter-balance on a pulley system to get me out of bed automatically in the morning.
If it was in one dollar bills it would probably be too big to stuff into my pocket, so I would set fire to it. I think that this would be marginally more economical than paying the utilities companies to pipe gas into my fireplace for me to burn. I do have rather a soft spot for nature, so another alternative could be to leave it out on the doorstep and see if any rabbits wanted it... In all seriousness though, for those who do happen to have spare money lying around, Oxfam and the WWF are good places to offload it. (For all you Americans out there, that's the World Wildlife Fund - I'm sure that Heavy Hulk Hoegarden and Silly Steve Arseten have quite enough cash already.) |
ECC Ram for my home webserver.
Buy two pair of running shoes, one pair for myself and one pair for my wife. Maybe enough left over to a few pair of sox to go with those.
Aeon Flux animated series
The rest of my ALIENS book series. Art supplies A couple of EXILES comics. Think I already ran out of money here. |
Add it to my engagement ring fund :)

RAM. Can never have too much of that can we? Well okay, maybe I don't need 64gigs of ram, but you get the picture.
Makes me wonder though, if every computer had 64gigs of ram, just how are we going bloat an operating system enough to make it fit? |
donate all of it to lq ...

New gun. :D
