I am using Fedora 10 and trying to get my WG511v2 Wireless card to work. I have been to forum after forum and little luck so far. I tried the steps listed here and I was able to confirm the version of ndiswrapper with this command:

rpm -qa freshrpms-release dkms-ndiswrapper

as:

freshrpms-release-1.2-1.noarch

However when I tried to install the driver with the command:

ndiswrapper /home/Quivx/Software/Wireless/WG511v2/Driver/Windows\ XP/WG511v2.INF

I get:

bash: ndiswrapper: command not found

Is there something that I am missing, or am I out of luck? Please help, if anyone can.

Wow, you've revived a really old thread from 2007!

Anyhow, there's a command (whereis) that will tell you where ndiswrapper is installed. It may be in /sbin or /usr/sbin, and you may need to log in as "root" to use the ndiswrapper command.

Have you looked at the dmesg output (dmeg | less) to see what the kernel "thinks" about your wireless card? Some Netgear wireless cards use the Broadcom chipsets, and, if your WG511v2 is one of those, F10 will have loaded the b43 driver for it, and all you'd need to do to get it working is to run b43_fwcutter to "cut" the proprietary firmware from the INF file

Actually right after I posted that I found this website:

I followed those steps and it works great. I thank you for the reply and the new info. I am new to linux and figuring things out as I go. Thanks again.
