Installing Debian on Qemu
Hi all,
As usual Debain amazes me again. I am using Debian Etch and I am using Qemun to create a Debian virtual Machine (I could install WinXP). However when I am installing Debian DVD the PC is hanaging up and is not able to complete the installation. I am not a pro with Linux and I would like to use the PC just to experment with compling the kernel. I do not know whats going wrong. Plesase help. Thanks :). |
Have you tried virtualbox ? It is gpl, and everything about it "just works" for me so far. It's fantastic. Check out "seamless mode" Your windows apps just hang on the desktop like native kde apps. I had trouble with vmware and sound. And virtualbox was much faster....

Dude,
I got to thank you for this amazing software. This one not only runs the VM but also doe not put a lot of strain on my processor (got a dual-core). qemu would push the processors up by 100% Again, thanks a lot man :) |
Why the duplicate (except for the smiley) posts in the same forum?:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...achine-615641/ http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...n-qemu-615642/ If it's an accident you should have edited one to apologise & link to the other. If it's deliberate, please don't do that any more -- it's against the rules. Now, you need moderator intervention to fix your mistake. I am reporting http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...achine-615641/ for closing & requesting it be merged w/ the other as it seems to have the less useful answer & probably the less clear title. |
