Debian for the PSION 5mx?

Hello,

I am a happy owner of a Psion 5mx, and I would like to know if I could use Linux on it, in particularly Debian.

I could find a distro but I would say it would be better Debian, since it supports almost everything.

Little pda applications are as well into the repositories, and Debian users are so glad of it. Why not Debian?

If you know a way to install Debian, please do not hesitate.

Sincerely,
P.

The 5mx has a Arm 710T CPU, which uses the ARMv4T instruction set. This instruction set is the minimum that has to be present to run the ARM port of Debian. Another must have is 32MB+ RAM, but the 5mx has only 16MB, so running Debian on it is not something that you will have fun with even if you are managing to get it to a working state.

I think that it would be possible. I run squeeze on another mini pda with 32Mb. The kernel is of course adapted to it, and there is no x11 at all. ;)

Well, try it, I can only repeat what the Debian developers say are the minimum requirements and they mean that you have to have 32MB or more.
