CUPS Printer Problem - prints, but prints gibberish

Hi all,

I'm using the stable release of Debian right now, and I just can't get my printer to work. My printer is an Epson Stylus Color 600, and according to linuxprinting.org, it should work perfectly, even better than in windows.

I have CUPS installed, I have the printer added to CUPS, and it does work... but it prints gibberish. I think that means that the driver is wrong, or the correct PDD file is missing. But I can't find the exact PDD file for my printer, and for the driver, I don't know what to do.. I already have gimp-print installed, but don't know why it isn't working.

My question is, how can I get my printer to print postscript files correctly?

All help is greatly appreciated.

Edit: I forgot to mention, I'm using Fluxbox on this machine, so I don't have any graphical printer configuration programs.

You don't have too ;) Fire up your browser and hit http://localhost:631 No Epson printer here, can't help you with that I'm afraid.

Thanks for replying!

Today the gimp-print drivers for Epson appeared on the printer config screen.. unfortunately, there is Epson Stylus Color 580 and 640, but it skips 600 (even though that is included in the package description). Ack, I hope one of those two works..
