I would like to install 4MLinux 36 on an existing partition and will dual boot with Linux Mint. I already have GRUB installed with Linux Mint. Can I install 4M without the boot loader. Then boot to Linux Mint and run update-grub to find and add 4m.

Non-bootable USB
Hello,
I downloaded 4MLinux-36.0-64bit.iso and to date have tried to 'burn' to a USB that previously booted 4MLinux-35.2-64bit.iso with no problems. However, after trying "USB Image Writer" and dd in LinuxMint 20 as well as UnetBootin in Elementary 5.1 both using the full partition and creating a 1.5GB partition on the 4GB USB -- I cannot boot using this USB on either machines, however, the v36 ISO file starts fine in both machines when run in VirtualBox. I have checked in Gparted that the boot flag is active as well. Help? Thanks in advance! |

Thank you for your reply zk1234,
The USB works fine with v35.2 as I re-wrote that ISO to the usb again to check. Do you have anything to verify the ISO so I can check that it downloaded ok? |

Thank you @zk1234!
It turns out that the aforementioned laptop's BIOS was corrupt. Once it was reset all worked smoothly.
