Battle for Wesnoth turn-based beautiful fantasy-themed strategy because it has wonderful community and amazing online multiplayer experience! Also really convenient to develop for, has lots of excellent game-exchanging addons and my friend even made one of them :)

Love to see some other games added to this list. There are so many more great options that aren't listed. What about jooleem, anagramarama, scramble, hangman, Emilia pinball, dual-n-back, drac, lpairs, tuxmath, pong, eremit, starlanes, concentration, torrent, qubix, fltkmm, sopwith, ace of penguins, wordsearch, npuzzle. I'm sure I've left many other good ones out of the list. Would be interested to hear what other people's favorites are besides those already mentioned.

There is room for additional options if any members have specific suggestions of Open Source Games they feel are truly excellent.

I usually vote for Frozen Bubble, that game is LITERALLY addictive!

And so, in order to break from this I've changed to a really fun TUX RACER, that is so much fun, reminds me of some old racing games I played way back years and years ago.

But I do love some Solitaire and other card games.

I love RTS and FPS games so the choice was a tough one. 0 A.D. edged it for me.

Rogue is available as its own package. I've been asking it be added for years, along with Moria, Hack, Larn, Angband, UltraLarn, ZAngband, Linley's Dungeon Crawl (the classic,) PernAngband/ToME, TomeNET. I'd vote Moria or a derivative (all the rest except Hack, *Larn, Linley's Dungeon Crawl.)

What's the best Tetris clone?
What's the best Arkanoid clone?
What's the best Space Invaders clone?
What's the best Galaga or Galaxian clone?
What's the best Defender clone?

I might be convinced to vote for some such game over Moria/*band/ToME*

Always loved Nexuiz. Xonotic is similar and I have played and loved them both, but if Nexuiz was a choice I would vote for it over Xonotic.

Hi s.verma. Good point. Hey Jeremy - why is Nexuiz not a choice?

It appears the most recent version of the open source "Nexuiz Classic" was released in 2009. Xonotic is a fork that is maintained and is in the poll.
