I don't think that Google is out to get Mozilla/Firefox, but I really like the Chrome beta, and I think it'll give Firefox and Opera a run for their money.

I voted Firefox though.

dora 02-05-2009 04:33 AM

Firefox, followed by Seamonkey.

If only Konqueror and Opera didn't crash that much because of flash/or flash didn't crash within them... I vote Iceweasel.

I was testing Arora a couple of days ago, but side by side rendering when scrolling of gmail with it and Iceweasel, says it all for now.

Chrome!!!! Even Conan agrees... although Crom is his way of saying it.

Firefox indeed.

sandyssn 02-10-2009 04:44 AM

hail firefox :p

dora 02-13-2009 04:04 PM

I would have expected more votes for SeaMonkey.

linuxlover.chaitanya 02-13-2009 10:49 PM

Was an expected result.

Yeah, I agree. Although I voted for FF, Seamonkey would be my second choice.

Voted for Firefox, again, because of the addons. If I had to use FF without the addons, I simply wouldn't. But I am glad to see that Opera got a distant second place. I think Opera could possibly be the most underrated piece of software of all times.

seamonkey on second... konqueror on...

The point is that we where not voting for the second choice. When I looked at seamonkey it seamed to me that it was kind of like firefox, which is fine, but I already had FF, so that was it.
There are several good choices so you have to have something special to attract new users.

The question now is, why are the K-developers still sticking to konqueror as default?

Integration, for sure. Konqueror integrates very well with KDE. It is also a very nice browser, with lots of potential.

Probably for same reason Gnome is sticking with Epiphany, and Xfce is in process of developing Midori. Each of which integrates nicely with existing gtk and qt toolkits.
