iceWM leads to Kernel Panic

I just installed the latest Vector then installed iceWM. then logged into it, as soon as I get in I am asked for my pass word to get wicd working again?

it was already working just fine before that, now I am getting asked to password it to get it to work. but which pass word I wondered. so I put my user password in. it didn't work. SO I logged out then abck in again to see if it'd let me try again. it did, this time I put my root password in still it shut down my wifi.

so I logged about out then went back to XFCE4 then wicd shut me down again asking me for a password then telling me that it now needs root privleages to work. so I thought reboot to see if that'd reset it. then when it boots back up I get a kernel panic..

what is that all about and how to fix it? luckly I have a trice boot on my lap top, currently in VOID so I can type this .. help me fix this problem Vector is giving me now all due to a icewm install?

never had this happened before in all of my installs of Linux distros.

first time for everything

I'll prob work around the kernel panic to get it to boot back up to get into it again, but this other thing abour wicd I have no idea about.

Best to also contact Vector Linux forums as well as here to see if this is a known bug.

I'm not a Vector user, but this is actually exactly why I stopped using IceWM 10 years ago. My T23 ThinkPad would randomly freeze up with the Caps-Lock light on. I didn't know about SSH'ing into it at the time so I don't know what caused it. I did, however, notice that it would happen only when I was using IceWM. Never when I was using any other window manager or desktop environment.

yeah it caused me problems even after I uninstalled iceWM and that wdic problem stayed. the thing is Vector is using NetWorkManager and has no need of wdic to begin with, but after I removed iceWM it is still asking me to give it a password to access my NIC. I only have 2 passwords user and root and I tried them both. they didnt work I worte them and told them of this problem then told them I am not using their distro until I get an answer on how to fix it, then just booted out of it then back into Void Linux that I am using right now.

along with Slackware 14.1 on my other partiton ...
