Smile Need help installing v8js PHP extension

I tried this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7...v8js-on-ubuntu

But it tells me libv8-dbg isn't available. How do I get this installed if it's not available in the repos?

For Ubuntu 14.04, the package name is apparently "libv8-3.14-dbg".

How did you come across that page? I google'd for hours looking for how to install this thing.

There doesn't seem to be that version available according to that search page you linked. Do you have any idea what I should do?

Sorry, I don't know. I've used PHP a lot, but never used v8js.

I downloaded the 32bit 12.04 LTS, installed in VMware. Installed Tasksel, installed Lamp stack, installed v8js, installed pecl by installing php-pear, run the pecl install command, rant the test script. It all went off without a hitch.

This experience has seriously got me questioning holding off on upgrading to the latest LTS every time they come out. Thanks for help.
