Disabling auto kernel update from kickstart

HI All,

Can some expert in Ubuntu help me disable auto kernel updates during kickstart? Or at least force it to install from the Ubuntu 14.04/12.04 image with the kernel update...

I am trying to disable auto-update of kernel when kickstarting. However, whenever the installation completes, the kernel always end up updating itself (Ubuntu 14.04.3).

I want to install only Ubuntu 14.04 and 12.04 without the minor updates.

I am kickstarting through network/pxe boot. I have copied the netboot installing to my tftpboot for both Ubuntu 14.04 and 12.04. The ISOs has also been copied to NFS share.

In my ks.cfg I have added:

nfs --server 192.168.1.42 --dir /vol/KICKSTART/kickstart/images/ubuntu14.04_server_amd64

# Ubuntu Kickstart Syntax: Disable Software updates automatically
preseed pkgsel/upgrade select none
# Ubuntu Kickstart Syntax: Disable Install any security updates automatically
preseed pkgsel/update-policy select none

The above kickstart with preseed does not seem to work. For some reason, my kernel always end up with the latest kernel after the installation completes.

Thanks much for looking.

I searched with google and unable to come up with answers that can do this.

Update:

Ok. I managed to install the Ubuntu 14.04 LTS without the minor updates.
I never knew that Ubuntu had to be very specific with the parent directory of web server to host the image/ISO path.

Kickstart File had to use:

url --url http://192.168.1.42/ubuntu/ubuntu14.04_server_amd64
preseed live-installer/net-image string http://192.168.1.42/ubuntu/ubuntu14....ystem.squashfs

Now another challenge...

What is the best way to download or obtain packages that was specifically available for 14.04? /var/cache/apt/archives had been emptied on other Ubuntu 14.04 in my environment. Can someone point me to an Ubuntu archive or mirror to 14.04 packages (without updates)?

I need to setup a local apt repo for 14.04 specifically. I have read up on apt-mirror but I believe I need to point that to a specific Ubuntu repo (14.04).

Thanks much for looking.
