LXer: Why Linux Installers Need to Add Security Features

Twelve years ago, Linux distributions were struggling to make installation simple. Led by Ubuntu and Fedora, they long ago achieved that goal. Now, with the growing concerns over security, they need to reverse directions slightly, and make basic security options prominently available in their installers rather than options that users can add manually later.

I disagree.
There appears to be some meme that security is down to some technical discrepencies.
Most security issues are still due to wetware attacks.

Actually, the recommendations in the article don't sound bad if they're offered as options. I can easily imagine, say, a CentOS respin that has them.

I don't suggest that they are "bad" options just that I still donb"t think that Linux foubles are a likely security problem at present.
