No root access to apps.
Nothing happens after type my password when I want to run Yast, Konqueror and other apps as root. What can I do?
|
Are you typing the root password or the user password?
|
what? you make fun of me?
|
Well that is a rather useless reply! Do you want help or not?
|
sorry! was silly question. I'm confused!
I use SuSE 6 months without a problem, but now... |
Cool banana's
Ok, if you open a console can you log in as root? If you can not you will need to start up in a single users mode and change the root password. I will assume you can at this point. Type in Code:
nano -w /etc/group Code:
vi /etc/group Now try to open yast the usual way. As soon as it fails type in Code:
dmesg It sounds like you have done an update which has overwritten some settings. Just a matter of finding out what! Cheers |
