Well that is a little disappointing, not that it will be hard to find an alternative volume widget but still. I wonder if we will see gstreamer 1.0 in current before 14.2...

they can run parallel

gstreamer and gstreamer1 and gst-pl... and gst1-pl...
so that is not a show stopper.

There is always the possibility of using an add-on volume control as well.

Example: OSSv4 has its own tool, and alsamixerui is available from SBO.

If this is for XFCE itself those builds are already made available by mlpa. See this thread on xfce-4-11 which has continued into 4-12.
