Greetings! I do hope you have been keeping up with improvements in Linux's viability as a DAW. Now that LV2 is taking over from LADSPA, Ardour has reached "a whole new level". I've used Ardour since from when it was so alpha there were no compile instructions as the awesomely brilliant Paul Davis realized development would crawl to a halt if he had to "do Tech service". Over time it became easy to install and wonderful to use. I dual-booted a lot so I could use Sequoia when needed but dual boots became all but non-existent even on the Free Version. The latest iteration is a "pay to play" although substantially cheaper than other DAWs, and is available for OSX as well as BSD and Linux.
The only real downside is that so many bands think ProTools is The One and Only but if you're using Sonar you already deal with (or sidestep) that.
