slackware 14.2 | Problems upgrading to KDE 5

So, I have been follwing the instructions on alienBOB's wiki on how to upgrade to KDE 5, with much difficulty, lol.

So anyway, I'm up to about here. >>

Upgrading to this KDE 5 is not difficult, especially if you already are running KDE 5_17.01. You will have to remove old KDE 4 packages manually. If you do not have KDE 4 installed at all, you will have to install some of Slackware’s own KDE 4 packages manually.

What I usually do is: download all the ‘ktown’ packages for the new release to a local disk. Then run “upgrade –install-new” on all these packages. Then I check the status of my Slackware-current, upgrading the stock packages where needed. The slackpkg tool is invaluable during this process of syncing the package installation status to the releases.

Note:

If you are using slackpkg+, have already moved to KDE 5_17.01 and are adventurous, you can try upgrading using the following set of commands. This should “mostly” work but you still need to check the package lists displayed by slackpkg to verify that you are upgrading all the right packages. Feel free to send me improved instructions if needed. In below example I am assuming that you tagged my KDE 5 repository with the name “ktown” in the configuration file “/etc/slackpkg/slackpkgplus.conf“):
# slackpkg update
# slackpkg install ktown (to get the newly added packages from my repo)
# slackpkg install-new (to get the new official Slackware packages that were part of my deps previously)
# slackpkg upgrade ktown (upgrade all existing packages to their latest versions)
# slackpkg upgrade-all (upgrade the remaining dependencies that were part of my repo previously)

And doublecheck that you have not inadvertently blacklisted my packages in “/etc/slackpkg/blacklist“! Check for the existence of a line in that blacklist file that looks like “[0-9]+alien” and remove it if you find it!

I ran the the command >> slackpkg install ktown
It installed a whole bunch of programs took around 45 minutes, then and then end i was presented with this.

Code:
==============================================================================
WARNING! One or more errors occurred while slackpkg was running
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

http://alien.slackbook.org/ktown/14.2/5/x86_64/kde/applications/ffmpegthumbs-16.12.2-x86_64-1alien.txz.asc: download error
Retry using 'slackpkg -checkgpg=off install ...'
ffmpegthumbs-16.12.2-x86_64-1alien.txz.asc: md5sum

http://alien.slackbook.org/ktown/14.2/5/x86_64/kdei/kde-l10n-bs-16.12.2-noarch-1alien.txz.asc: download error
Retry using 'slackpkg -checkgpg=off install ...'
kde-l10n-bs-16.12.2-noarch-1alien.txz.asc: md5sum
So, then I did this ?

Code:
root@dead:/home/nothing/Downloads# slackpkg -checkgpg=off install ktown

Looking for SLACKPKGPLUS_ktown in package list. Please wait... DONE

No packages match the pattern for install. Try:

        /usr/sbin/slackpkg reinstall|upgrade
Am I ok to continue or ?

Something doesn't feel right.

You might try to just reinstall both packages:

Code:
slackpkg reinstall ffmpegthumbs kde-l10n-bs
But is KDE 5 actually not working for you? There is also no need to do -checkgpg=off on ktown, I haver never done it and packages upgrade ok with slackpkg+

strange, i couldn't find any mention of it online either. :S
that makes me worry a little. :/

And to answer your question, no not yet, lol, i woke up this morning to find out my pc had rebooted overnight and kde is now broken, lol, But that's ok, i have nothing amazing to do today anyway.

So Fixy-Fixy i guess.

Update: Tried those commands, to no avail.
Update 2: ktown URL was wrong, changed it to http://bear.alienbase.nl/mirrors/alien-kde/14.2/5/

So far so good.
