Simple checkbook software for Slackware?

I need something very simple, just to balance my checkbook, savings account, and credit card.

I was about to install gnuCash, but it looked like it had a lot of dependencies. I just wanted something simple.

thx

Another option, if you don't mind using non-free software, is Moneydance. It's non-free, but cheap, and it seems to be good.

Is there a curses based checkbook program?

I forgot to mention that I preferred one that was non-GUI.

Something like Quicken for DOS (circa 1990)

thx

A few months ago I looked for a ncurses accounting package myself, but I didn't find any. Finally I went with Moneydance. It requires Java 2, and has a GUI, though.

You might take a look a banal, but it's obviously not being developed any more, and it might not be what you are looking for, at all. But it's text based.

www.linuxpackages.net
This site provide .tgz files for slack
Ive not trade gnucash yet, but i found if compiling your own program fails, then try a .tgz =) (note works the other way around too) =P
