rc file at sysconfig missing
 
I was trying to start vsftpd however it gives me an error /etc/sysconfig/rc: No such file or directory. I can't even find it in any files/folders in my machine.Can somebody give me that file?Thanks for your help! :)

Use the Slackware package for that and you won't have the problem.

To start it, uncomment the line in /etc/inetd.conf.

it is already uncomment.however, when i try to enter this command:/etc/rc.d/init.d/vsftpd start. Im doing the start because i thought thats the reason why i cant connect to ftp.Im having "421 Service not available, remote server has closed connection" error when i try to connect.

This would be a sign that you are not using the Slackware package of vsftpd.

Again, install the Slackware version of the package if you want help in the Slackware forum.

so, how would i uninstall the wrong package of vsftpd?sorry just a newbie in linux.thanks for your replies!

So, are you using Slackware at all? If so what release of Slackware?

Yes i am.Anyway thanks for the reply.I have already fixed my problem.It was just an installation problem. :)
