help with slackware 10.2
well i downloaded the lastest iso's of slack 10.2. burned to cd and restart computer. gets to the boot: prompt and i hit enter. gets to the following and just stops:
blk: queue c03af9f0, I/O Limit 4095mb (mask 0xffffffff) just sits there, cd starts to spin down and thats it. any ideas? here is my hardware: amd athlon xp 2500+ overclocked to 2.0ghz 80 gig sata drive on onboard via sata raid primary 60 gig maxtor drive partitioned to 2 30 gig partitions 6 gig western digital drive (gonna use for slack) 1 gig ram nvidia geforce fx5200 nec dvd r/w drive zip 100 atapi drive and i think thats it hehe. any help would be greatly appreciated. try a different kernel

Have you tried actually booting the system from the CD, to see if it maybe the kernel or possibly the iso image?
Try reburning the iso at a low speed and test it again. Don't let some small technical issue stop you from using Slackware man. I was plagued by problems way back in the day, now I don't have the same problems....just new ones that I've created. Hehehe. |

bah! well anyone know what to do to get lilo onto a sata boot drive with xp on the mbr?

well doing some research on this sata problem revealed that i need to use the sata.i kernel, but when i use that kernel the install cd just stops at the point above. any ideas?
