Interesting you say that. I was wondering out loud the other day about this. How do you know this? Do you know any SBo script maintainers that dont use Slackware, but Salix or any other derivative? I realise using the SBo scripts and possibly making bug reports can be considered contributing but im not aware of anyone from any derivative doing anything more than that. Please shed some light :)

The derivatives are useful because they may help newbies get to slackware, who otherwise would have ignored it.

No, I do not use any Slackware derivatives. I only use Slackware64-current.

I completely agree with that. Seems like Salix is the path that is getting me to be a Slacker any soon ;).

Slackware only besides my Droid phone. If i could install Slackware on it i would ;P

Slackware64 on my laptop. My primary system. Bunch of stuff on VBox to experiment on tho. Might try Salix on an old 2G eeepc we got.

I only know of some SBo script maintainers that are also maintaining SALIX. In any case, all SlackBuilds should run on the supported Slackware Linux port as indicated in the appname.info file.

I have Slack on all desktops and my laptop, but i find Salix a bit easier to manage on an Acer Aspire One netbook. I'm just lazy to customize a Slackware installation for the netbook...

I've installed salix fluxbox edition on an ancient AthlonXp1700+ computer, because i wanted installation to be slim out-of-the-box - i chose 'basic' from salix installer options.

Slackware and Zenwalk. Zenwalk because it has PAM and I have a business requirement to join all the slackware boxes to Active Directory.

Slackware also provides PAM. It's located in extra/source/pam. Run the SlackBuild to build your PAM package.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I have tried that already. Installed PAM, but that only provides the library for Chromium to work.

Installed PAM, rebuild shadow, install keberos, rebuild openssh and samba. Build nss-pam-ldapd and add PAM modules.

I can join the computer to the domain, but cannot get AD users to authenticate.

I used to use Wolvix (based on Slackware 12.2) on my HP Mini, but it seems the Wolvix project is no longer maintained. I still keep a CD as well as a bootable flash disk for troubleshooting.

Slackware only for me too.
