[REQUEST] Use UTF-8 as default in Slackware-next for man pages and message catalogs
 

Localized man pages included in Slackware use various encodings, making hard to find how to set GROFF_ENCODING to display them properly.

Encodings used in messages catalogs are also a mess.

For instance, out of the 25 .gmo files included in util-linux source tarball, 8 use various (non UTF-8) encodings.

It will take time to have everyone upstream use UTF-8, meanwhile we could use iconv to recode most if not all man pages and message catalog files.

I realize that it will take time just to find which ones are in concern but am willing to work at that. Anyone who would like to share that work is welcome ;)
