Replacing motherboard/processor without reinstall
Anyone have a procedure for replacing motherboard/processor without reinstalling Mandrake?
I am running Mandrake 9.0 on a motherboard with an Intel 700MHZ Celeron and looking to upgrade the Motherboard and processor. I would like to know if there is any preparations I can take before removing the old motherboard that will make Linux upgrade to the new one smoothly without having to do a full reinstall. Thanks in advance for any advice or directions to any FAQs/websites with helpful info. :D |
Most likely it will run properly on first bootup if the drives are in the same positions in the ide chain.

Thanks for the reply. It will be a few days before I get to installing the new board, but I'll let you know if it goes smoothly.
