Help with video card drivers!

Ok man, i have installed linux from some days, and i see it's very slow in games, and i can't put resolution higher than 1024 x 768...but...damn, i have a RADEON 9700 PRO!!! With windows i can use easily 1280 x 1024 (not more because i have a LCD 17"). I decided 2 go 2 www.ati.com to download the drivers...installing them with Win Xp was so easy...download...double click...done! here it's the hell!

this is the procedure:

Restart and log into X-Windows

Run fglrxinfo to verify the driver is installed correctly

If the output reads OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc. then your ATI drivers are installed and configured correctly.

Otherwise, if fglrxinfo indicates that MESA Indirect (software) Rendering is being used, then you may want to repeat the steps listed above, while paying careful attention to the following:

SO as u see, before installing drivers (that i've already downloaded) i had to download 2 programs. I downloaded the first, but, when i unzip gblic i have just a big number (about-60-70) .rpm files (which are package files yes?) and if i try to install one of them it says it can't be installed because:

opengroupware-theme-default-en is not satisfied ( my linux mandrake 10.0 is in italian...may this be the problem) what i have to do to install packets with linux? and can someone give me a working link to download XFree86?

Tnx in advance.
