The network install contains all the packages that are available in the free Mandriva cds which will be available soon, so why would there be any major packages missing unless they are not free software. You are not at the mercy of Mandriva ftp/http servers because, you can choose a mirror and install from there. If Fedora and Suse are a lot better, then go use them instead of misinforming people when you have not done any background research. Nobody here is a Mandriva salesman, but they are giving you accurate info which you can get yourself by visiting the Mandriva website. |
Your talking dribble I use all three.
Thank you for your comments and I will be pleased to see a release of the 2006 x86_64 iso so I can test it against the other two leaders. Meanwhile I will still recommend Mandrake for newbies, but not serious users, that is until I can test the x86_64 under full LAMP and have resolved the x86_64 wireless problem with all distro's. I will be the first to sing the praises of Mandrake if it can rectify it's Apache php problem under 10.2 and if it succeeds where all others have failed to have a working ndiswrapper on x86_64 or have cards that are not Linuxant that work without paying $20 dollars for a driver. |
