Have found helpful answers here many times before, so thought I'd see if I could give something back. Been using Slackware since 1995 (commercially since 1999) and now also use CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian/Proxmox.
Just completed my latest project which was to install a low power usage, low space usage Linux workstation in my Datacentre which could be used to run Java apps within a web browser. This is becoming increasingly difficult on the mac. Eventually chose an old 1.6 MHz Mac Mini reformatted with Ubuntu Desktop 12.04 LTS which I access using VNC over SSH. Ticks all the right boxes, except won't boot without a screen connected - a problem I'm hoping to resolve in time.
If somebody replies, then you know you've posted.
And I think tutorials have to be checked by a moderator, but I'm not sure.
By the way, just noticed you've hijacked someone else's thread.
