Zonet ZEW1000WU PCMCIA WLAN card problem

Hi,

I've bought this nice card thinking that it had the Atmel driver (like actually Google says), but accasionally it turned to have the RealTek's newer 8180L chipset... They do have a couple of driver versions for Linux 2.4.x kernels, but they don't seem to be working good on my system, being identified as Debian Sid (unstable) w/ GCC 3.0 as the default compiler and w/ 2.4.21-ck3 custom-compiled kernel which otherwise works perfectly for me (I'm also using a 3COM 656B PCMCIA card successfully)...

More specifically, following a Link-sys WPC11 Mini-HOWTO on Linux.org I've got the driver loading and even connecting to an access point, but trying to ping or otherwise send any kind of a packet to the network end with a kernel panic... Obviously, this close-source driver sucks... But still, I need to make it work, because I don't want to buy a new card...

Any help is appreciated...
