Hello,
I'm seriously considering getting a tiny AMD computer like the
Fitlet-RM to act as a home router/firewall/file&print server combo.
To do that, I'd like the machine to also function as a fast simultaneous 2.4 and 5 gHz wifi access point (i.e. two networks, one for each gHz). Unfortunately, I learned that the Intel 7260 chip in one of the Fitlet-RM models does not support setting up an access point in the 5 gHz range.
So my question is: Are there fast (300 or even 450+ mbps) wifi modules (internal card or USB adapter) that would work well with a modern Linux kernel (e.g. 4.9+) that *can act as a dual band (including 5 gHz) wireless access point"? (or is there a way to actually get the Intel 7260 to work as a 5 gHz AP?) Thank you!
