rtl8192 new driver

I have an Lenovo X121, amd E450 with built-in radeon graphics, using rtl8192ce wireless. The current driver (kernel 3.3.1) is somewhat unstable, leading to occasional loss of connection, and only seldom can I achieve speed over 1Mbit/s.

Recently, I noticed that a new driver is available on the realtek webpage (http://www.realtek.com/downloads/dow...Downloads=true).

Anyone has experience with the new driver? Are there any improvements besides of support for newer chipsets? If I simply do "make install" as described in the documentation, it overwrites the rtl81xxxx.ko files in /lib/modules.../.../rtlwifi/ ?

Well. Downloaded, compiled, it works. But equally well or not well as the previous one.

As I see many happy rtl8818ce users around (seemingly mostly on intel hardware), I guess the problem is that kernel/chipset/wifi card cannot talk that well together.
