I created a Wheezy Debian workstation using Workstation 10. IT was a trial copy and recently I purchased Workstation 11. Previously I was able to bring up a browser and surf with it. Forgetting the VM for a moment, this is all running on a laptop. For the laptop to browse, I select the wireless, 'connect', and it brings up a page that I log into. That make the connect. So the laptop itself has wireless. Back to the VM, on the Debian workstaion, it has a wired connection. At one point this worked, but now all I get is the wired connection is disconnected. The VM NIC is bridged. There is not a whole lot on the Debian workstation, so I could start over again. I had downloaded the latest kernal and compiled it, but that is about all. I guess in looking back I am confused that the VM says wired, when the laptop is on wireless.

Inside your VM run basic diagnostic commands to find out the root cause. 'dmesg', 'ifconfig -a', checking /var/log/syslog, etc, etc. may yield clues. If unsure post output in your reply.

A virtualization guest only knows the virtualized hardware its configured with. The fact your virtualization host uses wireless itself should not prohibit the client from getting a network connection.
