xfce - help with modules
i actually got it installed and working....
but i'm having trouble with the modules...i install them and even after exiting out, the don't show up in the list... are there issues with it or did i do something wrong? i know i had to keep doing that export command found on their help site...to get thisngs to install including the modules... |
What exactly is it you're trying to install and use? When I was using Debian on my desktop and laptop I didn't have to use any export arguments at all, except perhaps for when I originally built the software (exporting an additional pkgconfig path).

If you have installed XFCE4 from packages (rpms, debs or whatever) or if it came with your distribution you may have to configure the addons you install from source with ./configure --prefix=/usr in order for them to get picked up properly by XFCE4. I actually don't know if XFCE acts this way but a lot of other software does (GTK, for instance).
