VLC and Subtitles
 

When I load a subtitle file with VLC they are always justified to the left. Is there a way to center them?

I Googled for an answer and the only one I found said they were fixed position.

That didn't seem right to me.

I tried different fonts. That didn't seem to help either.

with VLC 0.9.4 I found an option that adjusts subtitle position up and down, but no lateral adjustment. You have to restart your video for it take effect. MPlayer can adjust up/down also (on the fly), but not, apparently, with .idx/.sub subtitles. Sorry that's not more helpful.
