Updating java on linux 8.0
Hi,
I was trying to update the version of java on my machine running linux 8.0. I downloaded the rpm and it installed properly into /usr/java/j2sdk<version> then I ran # java -version .. its still showing me the old version .. I was wondering how to link it to the new version .. can someone help me with this .. Thanks, sdsouza |

First off, do you mean Redhat 8? Mandrake 8? SUSE 8?
Second, did you upgrade your java package, or just install a fresh copy? |
I meant RedHat Linux 8.0 and i installed a fresh copy .. did not upgrade
rpm -iv j2sdk<version>.rp |
