Ubuntu audio
Hello,
I have recently installed Ubuntu linux and for some reason, there is no sound and the computer can't seem to find alsaconf, and when i try to install it, it claims that an updated version is already installed called "alsa-utils' but that won't work either. I have already tried muting and/or un-muting various options in volume control and alsamixer. if anyone can help, it would be very much appreciated. |
Did you run alsamixer with the root terminal? If you do get sound to work, don't forget to run alsactl store
and delete those fsck*ng annoying noises from /usr/share/sounds/gtk-events |
Or you could just turn those fucking annoying noises off in the Computer menu on your desktop? That's what I did.

Yes, i have tried to run alsamixer while in root terminal. it gives me the same options as in regular terminal so i still can't make any progress there. The place where i can get the most options is in "volume control" from there i can contriol the volume of the static coming from my speakers. I would actually be thankful if i could even hear annoying sounds, at leasty that would assure me that all is working properly.
I think that the problem can be solved if only i could run alsa-utils. does anyone know how to properly run it? |
