Trouble with "RPM" program after update attempt(FedoraC1)
*Sigh*
RPM had been acting strange lately an I felt I should take it upon myself to update RPM... Now I cannot install any RPMs and am drawing blanks on how to revert back to the older version. Any help/ridicule, etc would be appreciated. The new install was rpm-4.2.1-0.30_19, not sure what version I had before, whatever comes with Fedora Core 1. This Forum has been very usefull in the past, you guys are great! |
Not sure that's your problem, but the RPM Packager Fedora C1 uses seems to have a bug of some kind that won't allow for new RPMs... you should update it (check http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=115039)

I can't install any RPMs... RPM is screwed up... Can't even update RPM, is there a way to reinstall RPM without an .rpm?

I suppose (but I'm far from an expert) that you could download the rpm source (the file usually is .src.rpm) and compile it in your machine (using the ./configure, make but make install commands).
