Sendmail routing
 

What can I do to route with sendmail the Mail belonging to a domain thru its internal IP instead of thru the public Internet IP ?

The SMTP servers are connected to the LAN behind a PIX within DMZ1; that is why I need to route thru the internal IP.

Any ideas ?

Ok you have a sendmail server in the DMX of a PIX firewall, right??
If So, im guessing you have opened port 25 to that sendmail server right??

So your sendmail server has 2 ethernet cards, 1 for the DMZ and one for the Local LAN??

Ok Im confused can you give us ALOT more info.

I have both sendmail servers in the DMX of a PIX firewall.
Both with only one Ethernet card each.

Each single Ethernet card is configured with a private IP belonging to the LAN of the PIX's DMX.

Both servers see each other thru private IP and they not see each other thru the public IP (that the PIX routes for logical reasons).

That is why I would need sendmail of the server A route emails that belongs to the domain of the server B thru the private IP, since the DNS of the domain of server B provides the public Internet IP.

um kind of, You want to look at domaintable options within sendmail. If you want server B to handle all of the mail, then you could port forward 25 from A to B.

Server A and Server B have different domains, so each one is Mail server of their domains. I only want that when an outgoing email of Server A with destination domain.ServerB, it must be routed to the internal IP of Server B.
