Remote Desktop Sharing?
I know there is many post that's related to Remote Desktop. but non of then works for me.
I have an old gateway and i am learning java right now. So, i want to remote control it from my new desktop. My old gateway is running XP pro and i can do everything from my new desktop. but how can i do the same in linux? many people said about vnc. but i used rdesktop which i believe was a high-end of vncviewer. but it displays my gateway's screen in 8 bit color and some of the text was unreadible. I am using redhat linux 9.0. I just want to know if there is anything i can do to improve the quality. The gateway's default resolution was 16-bit. |
IF your gateway is runing windows, you can get a vnc server on it, then a vnc viewer for linux.
www.realvnc.com A nice trick is to start a new X display on your local box with the vnc viewer (in fullscreen) as the application it will run. Then you can switch between mandrake and (remote) windows with Ctrl+Alt+F7 and Ctrl+Alt+F8 |
