Redhat 7 to redhat 9
Hello, my name is Dexter and I am fairly new to Linux and to Redhat.
I was recently asked to upgrade from Radhat 7 to Radhat 9 for my ISP, and yes my ISP calls on me to do some of there work even though I am 17. Anyway, as I said I am new to Linux and redhat., I was wondering if anyone out there had suggestions on the best way to go about upgrading, anything to avoid or be careful with. Any help would be appreciated. |
i would say you could just upgrade your rh7 to rh9 from cd which i promise you that it's the safest way of upgrade your stuff without loseing all your data!
\ Good luck to you! |
Search this board for threads on apt4rpm, in combination with synaptic the update to 9 will be very easy.

i would back up the data you want to save and then do a fresh installation of RH9.
