Question on grub.conf and Cdrom boot
Hi everyone
I just installed Fedora Core and was wondering how I get my computer to boot from a cdrom. It used to, now when I have my Knoppix in my cdrom drive, Grub just passes it by and moves right into it's own menu. I know there must be a way to add an entry to grub.conf to make it a third menu option. So that if I wanted to boot from my cd, it would. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks. Jim |
i don't think you need to add anything to you boot loader at all.
I think you had insert the wrong cd or not the first cd |
HI trick_linux
Yes, I just found out something is wrong. I burned Damn Small Linux on a mini-cd (230mb) and put it in, but it didn't boot. Today's Knoppix did. Something went wrong. After thinking about it, I thought it would be nice to set up my Grub so that Menu item 3 was 'CD Rom Boot" and set up the cmos to work so that it would do Grub first, then if I chose, go to the Cdrom. Not sure if that is possible. Thanks again for your response. Jim |
