mIRC and wine

im unfamiliar with the program wine

does it let you run programs on linux that are ment for windows?

if so how would I get mIRC up and running on suse 9.1 using wine?

darkleaf 03-04-2005 02:03 PM

Yep wine does that. There should be some compatibility list somewhere but it might be a hassle getting some things working. There are linux irc clients out there too, they might be easier to use instead of mirc via wine.

pharmd 03-04-2005 02:29 PM

im actully using it for "other" reasons than chat if you know what i mean. dont think the other irc clients are capable of these "other" uses

doralsoral 03-04-2005 06:26 PM

yes you can. i use IRC for "other" uses too and i use xchat. i actually like it better than mirc.

Use KVIrc instead of using wine to run mirc.

*head spinning* Are people using the term '"other" uses' for DCC? :) Not that big a secret.
