mIRC and wine


im unfamiliar with the program wine

does it let you run programs on linux that are ment for windows?

if so how would I get mIRC up and running on suse 9.1 using wine?

Yep wine does that. There should be some compatibility list somewhere but it might be a hassle getting some things working. There are linux irc clients out there too, they might be easier to use instead of mirc via wine.

im actully using it for "other" reasons than chat if you know what i mean. dont think the other irc clients are capable of these "other" uses

yes you can. i use IRC for "other" uses too and i use xchat. i actually like it better than mirc.

Use KVIrc instead of using wine to run mirc.
