Hello,
does anyone know how to set kdm as the default login manager at startup? |

Edit /etc/inittab and change the default runlevel from 3 to 4. You would have saved yourself time by using the search facility on this site or google.

it is set to 4, but gdm is the default

You need to edit /etc/rc.d/rc.4 and quote out the lines referring to gdm by putting #'s at the beginning. |
