Are you sure you have in grub added your hdc=ide-scsi line?
Post your grub.conf, pls. |
i think something is messed up in my system becuase x-cd-roast stopped recognizing my burner too :( :( :( maybe i could just re-install linux again
anyways heres the grub.conf # grub.conf generated by anaconda # # Note that you do not have to rerun grub after making changes to this file # NOTICE: You have a /boot partition. This means that # all kernel and initrd paths are relative to /boot/, eg. # root (hd0,0) # kernel /vmlinuz-version ro root=/dev/hda2 # initrd /initrd-version.img #boot=/dev/hda default=0 timeout=10 splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz title Red Hat Linux (2.4.20-8) root (hd0,0) kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.20-8 ro root=LABEL=/ hdb=ide-scsi hdd=ide-scsi initrd /initrd-2.4.20-8.img **edit** i just realized that i have hdd not hdc, damn typos, illl fix that and see if that works |

i did that out of habit because i used to have 2 hard drives and the writer was hdd but then i got the 60gig monster hard drive and got rid of having two hard drives, thus making it hdc thanks for your help, Thetargos, JayCnrs, and boris :) :) :) |
You are welcome... You may still want to have hdc & hdd as ide-scsi if you want to burn on the fly
