Image Viewer context menu choices (open with...)
I just noticed that when I right-click on some pictures, my "Open With..." has duplicate entries of "Wine Internet Explorer". Is this normal? If not, how can I edit this particular Open With menu? Thanks! <3

the WINE issue is a bug
the instructions for removing that and / or editing the "open with" dialog vary depending on the desktop used KDE4 say for a jpg image r-click on it and select properties click on the "wrench" icon use the add and remove and up and down selection tools on the lower part of the properties window to edit the settings |
Oh, sorry. I was half-asleep when I posted that message. I am using Ubuntu 12.10 and I'm not after the context menu that appears when you right-click a icon, it's the one that appears when I open an image with Image Viewer and then right-click the big picture itself. It's for shoot the image into another program and there's two Wine entries. w00t! Thanks! :)

what desktop
"Image Viewer " is to generic it would be different for Gnome or KDE for Gnome it is likely "Eye of Gnome " open the "image viewer" click on the "help" then "about" if it is "Eye of Gnome " then it IS using the Gnome (nautilus) properties the same as on the nautilus r-click For Gnome r-click on a jpg, then a png, then a bmp, then a tiff, and so on .... and select "properties " then click on the "open with" tab and change it for every image format |
It says "Image Viewer for GNOME 3.4.2" when I do Help/About and nothing else??
Your suggestion for Properties on an image type worked perfectly and now I feel extra dumb for not looking sooner. Thank you! :) <3 |
